Safety - Safety Light Curtain

REVIEWThe deTec4 Core SAFETY light curtain from SICK is a guard-only safety light curtain designed for hazardous point protection and single-sided access protection. It features a sleek, low-profile design for quick and easy machine integration.

Available in heights from 300 mm to 2100 mm with 14 and 30 mm resolutions, the deTec4 Core is one of the easiest light curtains to install. Its dimensions and capabilities make it suitable for use in machine building and consumer goods, as well as storage and conveyor applications.

With a unique built-in automatic range detection of 10 m, the deTec4 Core is able to automatically determine the distance to the sender, which eliminates any manual setup of the sensing distance. In addition, integrated LEDs and diagnostic functions save time and reduce costs during installation and alignment.

QuickFix and FlexFix brackets on the deTec4 Core can be positioned in any location on the housing without causing blind zones.  Plus, the rugged IP 67 industrial design of the deTec4 Core enables it to operate in temperatures down to -30° C, making the light curtain suitable for low-pressure wash down and cold storage applications.

The complete housing of the deTec4 Core safety light curtain generates a continuous protective field with high resolution right up to the ends of the housing. This minimizes the safety distances in terms of machine integration by having no dead zones at the top and bottom of the light curtain. And, with protective field heights of up to 2100 mm, the deTec4 Core safety light curtain also reduces allowances for reaching under and over the protective field in accordance with current safety standards. An additional advantage of the deTec4 Core is that short safety distances for the operator to hazardous points accelerates processes with higher productivity.
