F500 Digital cameras with 1-million-pixel resolution deliver clear images ideal for small or complicated work pieces. The digital interface greatly reduces noise in the video signal that can affect measuring accuracy. F500 can coordinate inspections using two cameras from a single controller. Almost 80 kinds of typical measurement items condense Omron’s expert vision inspection know-how into simple-to-use pre-programmed macros that reduce start-up time. By using separate chips for parallel processing of measurement functions and communications, Omron optimizes F500 for uninterrupted vision inspection and data collection. This eliminates the compromises of handling both measurement and communications on a single chip, typical of other vision systems: 1) missing necessary data when random communication events take place, and 2) inspection speed slow downs as the chip gets bogged down handling communication functions
